On the afternoon of September 22, 2024, at 2:30 pm, the new book launch and reader sharing session of "Spatial Patterns - Medieval to 21st Century European Architectural Imagery" was successfully held at the Shen Peng Art Center of the People's Fine Arts Publishing House. This is also the first new book launch event held since the completion of the Shen Peng Art Center.

In order to allow readers to have a deeper understanding of the content of this book and appreciate the charm of European architectural art, this new book launch event specially set up a reader sharing session, and invited two well-known experts in the industry, Mr. Wang Qijun, a Ph.D. in architectural history and theory from Tsinghua University School of Architecture and a professor at the Central Academy of Fine Arts, and Mr. He Wei, a professor, doctoral supervisor, and head of the Department of Architecture at the Central Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture. They, together with the author Ma Ning and the planner and editor in chief Wang Qingyun, brought a visual and auditory feast to the audience on the topic of European architecture and research methods.

Mr. Wang Qijun believes that architectural space is not only practical, but also has aesthetic connotations. He takes European Renaissance architecture as a starting point and analyzes the influence of Renaissance architectural design rules on later European architecture. Mr. He Wei approached the topic from the perspective of an architect, discussing the influence of art history works on current architectural practices from the perspective of "architectural cases", and looking back at buildings in history from the perspective of European modernist architecture, tracing the original state of buildings. Ma Ning combines the research methods of this book and uses the geometric structure of architecture as a clue to narrate the relationship between ancient and modern architecture. He believed that geometric forms were a core element in the development of European architecture. In ancient times, the geometric forms of architecture were mostly hidden under decoration, while modern architecture completely sheds the coat of decoration, showcasing the beauty of geometric forms themselves and connecting with tradition.

At the reader sharing session, guests and the author and editor of the book engaged in lively discussions, sparking inspiration and passion. Readers and guests interacted enthusiastically. Everyone gathers together in a relaxed and free atmosphere to discuss architecture and art, as well as modern living spaces and urban development that are closely related to life.

After the reader sharing session, a new book release unveiling ceremony was held, which was jointly unveiled by Mr. Wang Qijun, Mr. He Wei, and the author of the book, Ma Ning.

At the end of the event, the on-site guests selected the lucky audience of the event and presented limited edition prints and signed books made by the author of the book as gifts.
